Jefferson County ACT Launch

Jefferson Co. ACTJefferson County recently held their ACT Work Ready Community launch. Officials attending the launch were from left, James E. Wells, President Jefferson County Board of Supervisors; Viola Davis, Phoenix Project; Dr. Ruth Nichols, Special Assistant to the President for Community and Economic Development Alcorn State University; Kenny Goza, TAACCCT Program Coordinator, Co-Lin; Rachel Buie, Jefferson County Retiree Project; and Walter Huston, Jefferson County Administrator. The ACT Work Ready Communities initiative is designed to assist a particular area, region or state in developing its workforce pipeline to provide skilled workers for employers. The framework allows each participating community to quantify and improve the skill levels of its workforce through a standardized workforce skill credential—the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate™—supported by data updated online by Iowa-based ACT on a monthly basis.
